Lagerplatz Winterthur, Halle 181

The Lagerplatz in Winterthur is an old industrial site, formerly operated by the Sulzer company, which has become a popular leisure and work location in the region over the last few decades. It offers bike and skate halls, bars, a hostel, a cinema, and various companies that have set up their offices there.
The Abendrot Foundation has owned the Lagerplatz since 2009. For the renovation, which was probably one of the last opportunities to do so, a six-story timber extension was built on top of Hall 181. In addition to a few shared spaces, it mainly consists of live-in studios that can be rented at affordable prices.
I was given the wonderful assignment by Abendrot to document the important construction phases of this special project.
